Benefits of Pure Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has always been known as the "medical plant" for its healing properties.
Medical and scientific research has confirmed what our ancestors already knew - that aloe vera, in its pure form, is a miracle for skin care. When applied to wounds, aloe vera acts like an anesthetic with antibacterial and antifungal properties.
A study was conducted with the American Medical Association that proved that topical aloe applied to wounds for six days lead to a 62% decrease in the size of the wound. The Journal of the Medical Association of the United Kingdom conducted a study with 159 participants with burn wounds who were treated with aloe vera. The expected heal time for the patients was 25 days, however, with the application of aloe vera to the burns, the patients healed on average in 12 days. Along with the inherent benefits noted above, organic aloe vera protects your face against the damaging effects of the sun - according to a study conducted by the National Hoshi University in Japan. Individual results may vary. Genetics, diet and lifestyle are also contributing factors for healthy skin.
The study noted that aloe vera served as a strong antioxidant by removing the free radicals caused by exposure to the sun and stimulated the immune system to promote skin healing.
Heal Dermatitis and Eczema
Eczema causes dry patches of skin to become irritated, itchy and flakey. It is also called atopic dermatitis, and the solution to treat eczema is to keep the skin properly hydrated while reducing inflammation. This is where aloe vera is the most effective for eczema. Aloe vera is recommended for dermatitis and eczema because it contains antioxidant, immune boosting and antimicrobial properties which help heal skin affected by eczema. It has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe the itching associated with eczema. Aloe vera keeps the skin properly hydrated, and prevents infections that may occur with dry cracked skin. Since eczema makes the skin extremely dry, aloe vera acts as a moisture protection layer that does not allow the skin to get dry or crack, until it is healed. Aloe vera also contains vitamins and polysaccharides which stimulate skin healing.
